Kelela joins the conference program for Dekmantel '25

For this year's edition of our free conference program, we’re taking over Tolhuistuin on Thursday, July 31st, in collaboration with Resident Advisor, WeTransfer’s WePresent and BMIM.

Focused on building and maintaining community while shaping contemporary discourse within the realm of electronic music, this year’s multidisciplinary conference program supports creative development in every sense of the word.

An intimate talk with some of the most distinctive artists in today’s alternative scene Kelela and Bambii, in conversation with Jeremy Larson (Editor-in-Chief at Pitchfork). We’ll dive into the basics and intricacies of music production through Resident Advisor workshops led by Surgeon, DJ Mell G and DJ Babatr. The program also puts a spotlight on stage design, an often-overlooked element that elevates the festival experience, with a session hosted by our longtime collaborators, Children of the Light.

The program established with BMIM delves into the intersection of film and music, where Mike Redman and Dennis van Rijswijk will present their documentary projects and the panel will further discuss the heritage of rave culture, the creative processes of filmmaking and producing, as well as tips for independent producers, filmmakers and composers. This multimedia presentation will offer an opportunity for the audience to network and learn more about the music (rights) in the (documentary) filmmaking field.
