Sarkawt Hamad is a DJ whose sets strike a rare balance, able to activate a dancefloor's collective body while also encouraging you to really listen; to turn your ears towards bubbling, nuanced textures, grit, and bass. With a fully rounded sound ranging from leftfield techno and dubby house to bumping bass and breaks, the sum total is mesmerising: full of depth and tension, bliss and cosmic mystery. Raised within a Kurdish-Iraqi family, Sarkawt was surrounded by a deep appreciation of music, a love that has carried her from formative years in Amsterdam's club scene to appearances at some of Europe's most respected clubs and festivals.
