Phase Fatale

At the intersection of techno's industrial past and its avant-garde future stands Phase Fatale, the Berlin-based project of Hayden Payne. A resident at Berghain and KHIDI, Payne channels his roots in New York's EBM underground into a style precisely engineered for the deepest, darkest corners of the dancefloor. Across releases on Ostgut Ton, Jealous God, and Hospital Productions, he has developed a distinctive language of stark atmospheres, rhythmic intensity, and meticulous sound design, balancing brutal force with uncanny precision. In 2018, Payne co-founded the BITE label, creating a home for artists operating beyond conventional boundaries. Both as a producer and DJ, he remains one of the defining voices in contemporary industrial techno, pushing the genre into ever more shadowy and uncompromising territory.
