Please welcome Jack J, a key figure in Vancouver’s music scene and creator of one of our favourite feel-good records of the past year. Also known as one half of Pender Street Steppers and co-founder of Mood Hut, the Australian-Canadian producer has expanded his repertoire from deep house to delicate new wave and chillout pop, all with a raw edge. On ‘Blue Desert’, his second album, J takes his bittersweet mix of sax-infused electronics and Erlend Øye-esque vocals to hazy new heights. We can’t wait to see it come to life, live at Dekmantel Festival ’25.
