Long story short: we can’t imagine Dekmantel Festival without Helena Hauff. Since her first Greenhouse appearance in ’15, she has become a festival essential; playing an unforgettable set with DJ Stingray in ’16, closing the main stage in ’18, drowning out the UFO darkness in ’22, and returning to the Greenhouse in ’23. As the ultimate embodiment of a no-bullshit attitude, Hauff is like a refreshing storm after a dense summer day. Both clearing and electrifying the air with a seemingly bottomless record bag, witnessing the Hamburg icon behind the decks—juggling vinyl, vibes, BPMs and cigarettes—is forever inspiring.
