Dave Huismans (ex_libris, A Made Up Sound)

Dave Huismans is a Dutch musician and DJ whose work has played a key role in shaping post-dubstep and reshaping club music over the past decade. Best known for his projects A Made Up Sound, 2562 and ex_libris, he operates at the shadowy intersections of sound system culture, house and techno, leaning heavily on low-end, leftfield rhythms, ethereal soundscapes and unconventional, tense, stripped-back structures. His cerebral sound sphere is built for physical impact and transcends genre conventions, focussing instead on “experimental music that people have to move to.” Huismans has been closely connected to the Dekmantel ecosystem for many years, and we’re thrilled to welcome him back.
