Timedance founder and bass-weight vanguard Batu needs very little introduction—doubly so at Dekmantel, where his name is the stuff of legend. Whilst it’s true that the Bristolian DJ and producer has graced many editions of the festival over the years, he’s never delivered the same set twice, relentlessly pushing the boat out with intricate polyrhythms, textured sound design, and a refusal to stick to conventional structures. From his 2022 debut album 'Opal' to a string of daring singles and remixes since—including on the Timedance sub-label A Long Strange Dream—Batu has continued to expand his sonic language with precision and imagination, crafting hypermodern club music with a distinctly UK streak.
