Having grown up in Lagos, Nigeria, with limited internet access but an insatiable thirst for new music, Akanbi relocated to New York City in 2010. There, he swiftly became immersed in club culture, initially as a devoted dancer and later as both a DJ and rave instigator. His DJ style embodies a unique blend, seamlessly interweaving freak-out boogie, sensual rollers, compelling bangers, intricate percussion, afrobeat rhythms, deep thumping bass, and slow-burning experimental descents.
